Everton FC to face Hajduk Split in Europa League

Everton will take on Hajduk Split in their final Europa League qualifier.

Ronald Koeman’s side were drawn with the Croatian side after clinching one-goal wins over Ruzomberok in their previous two-legged tie.

The Blues would book a place in the Europa League’s group stages if they overcome Hajduk, who remain unbeaten in seven prior visits to England.

Similar to the Ruzomberok tie, the first leg will take place at Goodison Park on Thursday, August 17 with the return leg at the Stadion Poljud a week later.

But Koeman insists that the Toffees will be braced for the prospect of Hajduk.

He said: “Hajduk Split will be a real challenge, with their strong support and a stadium that is good to play football in.

“But of course we want to reach the group stages of the Europa League, so we will have analysed their strengths and weaknesses between now and the tie and we will be prepared.”
