Sandro Ramirez becomes Everton FC’s new no.9

Sandro Ramirez will wear Everton’s iconic number nine shirt next season.

The Blues’ summer arrival from Malaga is set to don the shirt made famous by the likes of Dixie Dean, Alex Young, Bob Latchford and Duncan Ferguson.

Other new additions to Ronald Koeman’s side have also received their allocated digits for the 2017/18 campaign as the club confirmed its official squad list.

Michael Keane will take the no.4 shirt vacated by Darron Gibson in January while fellow joint-record signing Jordan Pickford has been handed the no.1 jersey.

Pickford has replaced Joel Robles at the top of Everton’s squad list as the Spanish goalkeeper finds himself bumped down to near the bottom at no.33.

Ex-Ajax captain Davy Klaassen will sport no.20, the number previously held by Ross Barkey and latterly Bryan Oviedo prior to his Sunderland switch.

Wayne Rooney takes over the no.10 shirt after Romelu Lukaku’s move to Manchester United was finally confirmed on Monday.

The impending departure of Gerard Deulofeu to Barcelona has seen winger Yannick Bolasie move up from no.14 to take Goodison Park’s no.7 shirt.

Unlike last summer, Oumar Niasse hasa been afforded a squad number as the much-maligned Senegal striker was handed the no.34 shirt.
