Everton have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Henry Onyekuru.
Onyekuru will become the latest Blues arrival of the summer after they struck a deal with KAS Eupen for the promising Nigeria international.
The forward finished joint-top scorer for the Belgian side in Division A last season with 22 goals, ten of which came in the final 10 games of the campaign.
He was rewarded with his first call-up to his homeland’s senior squad at the beginning of this month for a 3-0 friendly win over Togo.
Everton triggered Onyekuru’s release clause with a £7 million bid and reportedly believed completed a medical at the club’s Finch Farm base on Monday.
Arsenal and West Ham had both pursued the 20-year-old, who will immediately spend the forthcoming season on loan with Belgian champions Anderlecht.
The Toffees believe another season in the country coupled with Champions League football will help him improve ahead of his life at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile Everton are ready to unveil Sandro Ramirez as their newest signing.
The Malaga striker is currently on international duty with Spain at the European under-21 Championships in Poland which has held up his Blues unveiling.
With his country taking on Italy in Tuesday’s semi-final however, it is believed that Everton will officially confirm the signing within the next 24 hours.
Goodison Park officials and their Malaga counterparts are understood to have agreed to hold off on the announcement until after Spain’s run to the final.
Sandro will become Everton’s third summer signing at a cut-price fee of £5.2 million, joining record buy Jordan Pickford and a £23.6m Davy Klaassen.
