Lookman targeting regular Everton FC role

Everton youngster Ademola Lookman has admitted he is aiming to be a regular in the first team next season.

The 19-year-old joined the Blues in the January transfer window from Charlton Athletic in a deal that could eventually cost as much as £11 million.

He made an instant impact at Goodison Park; scoring just minutes into his debut in the 4-0 win over Manchester City just ten days after signing.

Game time has been hard to come by for him since that moment though as he made just seven appearances in Everton’s final 16 games of the season.

He is likely to find himself playing the role of impact substitute again next season should Everton be successful in bolstering their squad during the summer transfer window.

But the 19-year-old is not fazed by that prospect as he insists he is aiming to establish himself in Ronald Koeman’s starting line-up.

“It was an amazing feeling to score against Manchester City. I can’t really describe it,” he told The Independent.

“But I need to kick on from that – I want to have 100 more moments like that in my career.

“There are things that I can still improve on. I want to kick on next season and hopefully establish myself in the first team.

“I’m already looking forward to pre-season training. You have to set goals for yourself and be confident in your ability, and I am confident. We’ll see the results next season.”
