Ronald Koeman is targeting an early start to Everton’s new season preparations.
Koeman has ordered the Blues’ players to report back for their first day of pre-season training on July 3.
The move follows the Dutchman bringing his squad’s return to Finch Farm forward by 72 hours after he had succeeded Roberto Martinez.
And Koeman revealed that he plans to take full advantage of the additional training time as Everton prepare to enter the Europa League.
He said: “Always it is the best, but sometimes it is difficult.
“It’s all about clubs are playing until end [of the] season, you have international break until June 13-14.
“Our start of pre-season is July 3, that’s the best, but it’s not what normally happens.
“Last summer, I think several teams also had that problem again, when the Premier League starts August 13-14, it is still not the team that will start one month later.”
