Ronald Koeman has admitted that he harbours ambitions of managing Barcelona.
Koeman is coming to the end of his first 12 months at Everton, which has seen them qualify for the Europa League at a first attempt.
But a return to the Nou Camp this summer continues to be touted for the Dutchman, who won the European Cup as a player for the club and later served as a coach.
Barca are preparing to appoint a successor to the outgoing Luis Enrique, who will leave after a success-laden three seasons.
However Koeman insists that his plans to take the reins in Catalonia will have to wait until he has restored the Blues to a Champions League place.
“Everyone knows I am from Barça, they know my love for a club where I grew up as a player and as a person,” he told Sport.
“In football, as in life, as in business, everything can be talked about and discussed. In my life as a professional coach I have two dreams to fulfil. One, coach my country, Holland.
“My other wish, my other dream, is to one day coach Barca. That’s the truth.
“I now owe to Everton. We have a very powerful and exciting project and we will reinforce our best to try to reach the Champions League next season.”
