Ronald Koeman has vowed Everton will ‘try everything’ to keep Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku’s future with the Blues remains clouded in uncertainty after he rejected a new five-year contract, with only two years remaining on his existing deal.
Chelsea remain the most likely destination should the Belgium international leave Goodison Park despite a record-breaking £100 million price tag widely touted.
Although Koeman insists he is not privy to the supposed valuation, he insists that Everton’s remit remains unchanged in convincing Lukaku to stay put this summer.
He said: “I’m not involved in that business. He has a two-year contract [left].
“If somebody is interested, for sure, they will call the board of the club and then we will speak about it.
“What we like to do is to try everything to keep him in Everton for next season.”
