Brendan Galloway’s early Everton FC return explained

Tony Pulis has explained why West Brom allowed Brendan Galloway to return to Everton ahead of schedule.

Galloway joined the Baggies on a season-long loan but saw the move curtailed with just five weeks remaining of the current Premier League campaign.

The 21-year-old struggled to make a lasting impact during the temporary switch to the Hawthorns, with only five appearances to show for his time there.

He was restored to the Blues’ under-23 side for their 4-1 win over Tottenham last night, and Pulis has explained West Brom’s reasons for allowing him to rejoin the fold at Goodison Park.

He said: “We are allowing Brendan to play in three very, very important games for their [under] 23s.

“He’s an absolute pleasure to work with and we enjoy having him with us and working with him.

“Of course he would have wanted to play more but he has found it very difficult in competition with Allan Nyom and Chris Brunt performing so well there.

“He is top lad with a great career ahead of him.”
