Morgan Schneiderlin believes that Everton are capable of catching up to Manchester United and Liverpool in the race for Europa League qualification.
Last weekend’s emphatic win over Bournemouth saw the Blues move to within six points of their local rivals and five of Jose Mourinho’s sixth-placed side.
Both teams will face Everton in April as they look to secure European football next season following their respective failed Premier League title challenges.
And Schneiderlin, who left Old Trafford last month, sees no reason why Ronald Koeman’s side could not find themselves firmly in the hunt for a continental spot.
He said: “We want to finish high and catch the teams above us.
“Liverpool are six points clear, Manchester United are five – so why not?
“We can catch them if we had a good run of games.
“We need to finish strong so we want to give the fans Europa League football for next season and build a platform.”
