New Everton signing Morgan Schneiderlin has set his sights on helping Ross Barkley living up to his potential.
Barkley continues to struggle with consistency this season despite Blues manager Ronald Koeman taking varying approaches too the England international.
Schnelderlin is no stranger to high-profile struggles after his £20 million move to Goodison Park this week ended a frustrating 18-months with Manchester United.
And the French midfielder is pledging to offer Barkley as much possible support in the Wavertree-born player’s quest to match the current expectations of him.
He said: “There’s many good players in this football team.
You have Barkley, a number 10. I like him. I think he’s a great talent and I think he will show.
“Of course he has some people speaking about him a bit because he’s an English talent and they want him to perform at 100 per cent every time. But I’m sure he will.”
“I always like to link between players in midfield,” added Schneiderlin.
“Hopefully with Barkley I can feed him and make him in the ideal position for him to have good games, to score goals and make some assists and to be one of the best because I think he has the quality to be so.”
