Koeman already impressed by Everton FC new boy

Ronald Koeman has admitted that he is already impressed by the start to Ademola Lookman’s Everton career.

Lookman became the Blues’ first January signing last week after he arrived from Charlton Athletic in a deal which could eventually rise to £11 million.

He was paraded before last weekend’s FA Cup defeat to Leicester City and has been training with the Everton first team ever since.

And Koeman admits that the 19-year-old has already left a strong impression.

He said: “Ademola has good experience and everybody knows that at that level the football is more physical than the Premier League.

“Now he will get more experience at a higher level, which will be good for the boy.

“I spoke to the boy and he knows what we want, how he needs to train and play and his behaviour.

“He’s only 19 and we know it’s difficult for young players to come into the first team at the level of the Premier League.

“But he’s the type who we believe can make the step as soon as possible.”
