Everton’s dream of a waterfront stadium remains very much alive after Peel Holdings revealed they are still in negotiations for the site.
Farhad Moshiri, the club’s largest shareholder, vowed last month to deliver an area which reflects the passionate and loyal support of the Blues’ fan base.
The Goodison Park chief is understood to favour the Bramley-Moore Dock as his preference over Stonebridge Cross, the other location also under consideration.
Peel own the land on which Everton envisage building their new home but their planned development of a Liverpool Waters project threatened to end the dream.
However Ian Pollitt, the assistant director of the project, has confirmed that both projects remain feasible and that talks are ongoing with the club.
“We are [still] talking to Everton. We are in discussions with them, it’s been ongoing,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“It would be good to see it in our development. But if it didn’t happen we’re quite confident we can do the development without them.
“It’s something we’d like to see there. We’re working with Everton and the city on that, so watch this space.”
