Everton are planning to hand Leighton Baines a new two-year contract.
Discussions have been ongoing with the England international over an extension to his current Blues deal, which set to expire in summer 2017.
The Guardian claim that Ronald Koeman is keen to ensure that Baines, price a popular figure among both fans and team mates, remains at Goodison Park despite his advancing seniority.
The 32-year-old previously attracted interest from Manchester United in 2013 but ex-Everton manager David Moyes failed in his efforts to land the left-back.
