Ronald Koeman insists that he has no issue with Phil Jagielka’s appearance in the Wayne Rooney scandal.
The Everton captain was photographed alongside his Manchester United counterpart during a wedding party at a Hertfordshire hotel last weekend in their official England tracksuits.
Rooney appeared worse for wear and has publicly apologised for the incident which took place over 24 hours after the World Cup qualifier with Scotland.
But Koeman has downplayed Jagielka’s involvement after holding talks with the Blues defender about the matter at Finch Farm this morning.
He said: “I spoke with Phil this morning, not only about this but other aspects of football.
“The case of Rooney is not my problem because he’s a Man United player and Phil is an Everton player.
“But it was not that big a problem for me with Phil. He was there, he had a drink but okay, it was after the match and the behaviour of Phil was not bad.
“Everybody needs to understand how dangerous social media is and you need always to be an example for young people as a football professional but that’s my opinion in general.
“With Phil, no problem. I spoke to him and the rest is between him and I.”
