The increasingly-popular vegan trend backed by celebrities including Louis Hamilton and Ariana Grande has arrived at The Vincent restaurant in Exchange Flags.
Restaurant bosses lunched a luxury menu to accommodate those keen to try the alternative food offering this week. It comes after the ‘Veganuary’ campaign has seen an estimated 120,000 people in the UK commit to go vegan at the start of the year.
The popular eatery, co-owned by LFC legend Steven Gerrard, has been popular with celebrities and the city’s movers and shakers since opening its doors in 2015.
This week, the restaurant has added over 10 different vegan varieties to the new menu.
Diners can now choose a variety of delicious plates including chicory and orange tartlet, pear and dressed rocket salad or a wild mushroom ravioli served with rocket and parmesan. And foodies on a mission to spice things up are able to enjoy a guilt-free tandoori curry which comes with vegetables, fragrant rice and the choice of a poppadum. There are also vegan-friendly desert treats which include apple tart, dairy free vanilla ice cream, passionfruit cheesecake, mango sorbet as well as a selection of sorbets.
The new additions come as a host of restaurant experts predict a continuing trend in the rise in veganism in 2018.
Speaking about the vegan menu, restaurant manager Tibu Pinedo said:
“As someone who has been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years, I know how important it is for a restaurant to move with the times. The amount of visitors which come through the doors to say they are vegetarian or vegan has been rising dramatically for some time. In response we have decided to create a specialist menu, with a luxury twist, to meet rising demand. Hopefully our new offering will be hugely popular with guests.”
