Camp and Furnace are set to host a two-day Prosecco festival over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Held on August 26 and 27, a range of Italian dishes will be cooked up by local restaurants Maray and Trattoria San Marco along with live music and DJs.
To complement the meals, people can wash down their meals with a choice of a wide range of Proseccos, via masterclasses led exclusively by Northern Italian producers.
With two sessions scheduled on both days, from 1pm until 5pm and 7pm until 11pm, ticket holders will be given five free glasses of Prosecco throughout the sessions to help find the best glass suited for their chosen meal.
An afterparty is also scheduled to take place each night at The Merchant.
The Slater Street venue will host a DJ set from Hercules and Love Affair on the Saturday while an Abba celebration closes the event with ‘Gimme, Gimme, Gimme Abba After Midnight’.
Lewis Boardman, co-founder of The Merchant, said: “Because lots of the producers are exclusive to our festival, people will have the chance to try prosecco they’ve never had before and then they can pair it with great Italian food so it’s more of an experience.
“It’s nothing too serious, it’s really easy-going, and this is the last big weekend of the summer so it’s great timing for it.
“We’ve had a year at The Merchant of watching trends and we’ve seen the rise and rise of prosecco, everybody loves it, so we wanted to partner up with our friends at Camp & Furnace to create a fun food and drink event for Liverpool.”
