Busaba closes its doors in Liverpool One

Liverpool One restaurant Busaba has announced it will close its doors next week.

The Thai-themed eatery opened in the heart of the city centre’s shopping district just 14 months ago but is now set to call time on Monday, May 15.

Bosses of the restaurant chain were disappointed that the Hanover Street venue had not enjoyed an anticipated level of success despite hailing ‘positive trading’.

Busaba’s Liverpool staff have been offered opportunities to continue working within the brand’s other outlets and will be given support by the company.

A ‘thank you event’ will be held for the restaurant’s team with anyone signed up to the Liverpool database receiving an email invite along with a redeemable £5 discount voucher.

“Deciding to close our Liverpool restaurant has been a challenging decision, yet a sensible one made for the greater good of the company,” said a Busaba spokesperson.

“Following 12 months of positive trading and great feedback from our guests, the restaurant has been unable to get to the desired position in the agreed timescale.

“Liverpool is a great city, which we’ve enjoyed being part of this past year – meeting amazing people and forging some wonderful partnerships.

“It is a city we will genuinely miss but are optimistic we will return.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful colleagues and all of our great guests for their loyal support.”
