The Palm House has announced its busiest Christmas schedule yet with concerts, choirs, cinema nights, wreath making and chocolate making running alongside its traditional afternoon tea, festive salsa and theatre events.
The iconic Sefton Park venue will be showing festive films Muppets Christmas Carol, The Grinch, The Holiday and It’s a Wonderful Life along with a family screening of Elf in the days running up to Christmas Eve.
There will also be plenty of music to get you in the festive spirit with two carol concerts performed by local choirs along with free Christmas concerts and a festive sing along. Those looking for a more hands on festive fix can take advantage of the wreath making classes that are on offer for the first time. After being greeted with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, guests will then make their own wreaths under the supervision of celebrity florist Loraine Bingham before indulging in a festive afternoon tea.
Another first on the Palm House Christmas calendar is Chocolate Making with afternoon tea. Artisans chocolatier Oliver Dunn will lead the class with a detailed demonstration on how to mix, pipe and decorate your very own chocolate truffles.
ALTRU Theatre, the non-profit community group, will be staging a special performance of The Emperor’s New Clothes on Saturday 16th December. ALTRU are a touring theatre company who are dedicated to the social and educational development of children and communities.
Jumping Jacks will also be hosting a Christmas children’s party on Saturday 23rd December.
James Devlin, Events Co-ordinator of the Palm House, said: “Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and we wanted to give people as many opportunities as possible to enjoy some time in these magical surroundings. There’s something for everyone so whether it’s bringing the children along to watch a movie or trying your hand at wreath making, there’s lots of fabulous events here to get you in the festive mood.”
