Mercure Liverpool complete Atlantic Tower renovation

A year-long renovation of Liverpool’s Atlantic Tower hotel has been completed.

Mercure Hotels are offering guests a taste of the city’s rich cultural heritage from the inside out with its upgrade of the original decor.

Within walking distance of an array of shops, bars and restaurants, the hotel also makes a great hub for those visiting Aintree racecourse or staying for a must-see match.

Guests can now see Liverpool’s rich heritage without even stepping outside of the hotel thanks to the local influences throughout the new refurbishments.

Local music, the docks and the city’s industrial history are reflected in the new interiors while the main lobby seeks inspiration from its shipping history.

A feature wall made of driftwood uses the blue, brown and green hues of the River Mersey in the soft furnishings.

Rope, rust and wood accents give a more industrial feel to the common spaces and nautical-inspired fixtures continue the theme which uses natural materials to give a refined and relaxed feel.

In the bedrooms, an impressive musical stock take centre stage with huge record motifs and crowd scenes adorning the walls to echo Liverpool’s status as the city of pop.

The hotel has 225 comfortable bedrooms including six superior 27 privilege rooms, 13 family rooms and twins and doubles.

Suites are also perfect for those looking for a little added luxury with beautiful panoramic views, flat screen TVs and Nespresso Coffee Machines.

The hotel also features extensive conference facilities and is a great location to host weddings and parties.

Further amenities include The Vista Restaurant and VU Bar and Terrace – both of which offer stunning views of the Royal Liver building.

Open all year round, the VU bar offers drinks outside in the summer for cocktails alfresco style.

Peter Stack, Managing Director of Amaris Asset Management, said: “We are very pleased with the hotel refurbishment which reflects the rich heritage that Liverpool has to offer.

“Both the hotel refurbishment and rebranding of the hotel to the Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower has repositioned the hotel in the Liverpool market.”

Rooms are available from £49 per night. For more information or to book a Mercure Hotel, visit www.mercure.com.
