Sam Fender will headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool this summer.
Taking place at Sefton Park between May 23 and May 25, the festival is set to see more than 100 acts perform across four stages with 100,000 expected attendees.
Singer-songwriter Fender has been confirmed among the lead artists for the three-day event alongside Blossoms, Wet Leg, Myles Smith and Lola Young.
The ‘Seventeen Going Under’ star says he is ‘excited’ to be asked to perform on the Main Stage.
Blossoms added: “We’re delighted that Radio 1 have invited us to play at this year’s Big Weekend.
“Even more so because it’s taking place in Liverpool, a city close to our hearts, where we’ve worked and recorded every single one of our albums since our debut in 2016.
“It’s going to be a really special weekend and we can’t wait to perform.”
More headline acts will be announced in the coming months, along with performers for the New Music Stage, Dance Stage and BBC Introducing Stage.
