Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye is edging nearer to completing a £7.1 million move to Everton.
The Senegal enforcer will put the finishing touches on his switch to the Blues after they met the release clause in his contract with the Championship club.
Gueye has travelled to the club’s Finch Farm training ground to become Ronald Koeman’s second signing of this summer to date.
A host of clubs have targeted the one-time Lille player, whose statistics last season rivalled N’Golo Kante, but Everton have won the race for his services.
Koeman is keen to make further additions this week with a £10 million deal for Swansea captain Ashley Williams also in the works.
