Ronald Araujo has downplayed talk of his Liverpool stay being made permanent.
Araujo continues to enjoy a strong start to a season-long loan from Barcelona despite operating at right-back rather than his favoured position in central defence.
The Uruguay international featured in eight games for the Reds and racked up both his opening goal and assist in successive Champions League appearances.
Andoni Iraola’s side have the option to make Araujo’s stay permanent at the end of the current campaign for a fee in the region of £47 million as part of the loan deal.
But while Araujo admits he is already relishing life on Merseyside, he believes that any discussions around his long-term future are still somewhat premature.
“It’s very early to talk about these things,” insisted the 27-year-old.
“I’m just trying to enjoy every day, continue to grow, develop, to play, to give what’s required of me, to have that confidence.
“I’m really happy. Really happy to be here, my family are also very happy.
“But it’s a bit early to be talking about those things.”
He added: “I’m really happy here, my family’s very happy, that’s also very important.
“And I’m just really hungry to go on in this season and give everything, give the best that I can of myself, continue to learn, continue to grow as a player which is what I’ve always wanted to do.
“I’m having that game time, those minutes and that’s what I want. Then we’ll see what happens and what I want for the future.”
