Liverpool John Lennon Airport has seen flights impacted by UK-wide chaos.
More than 1,000 flights were grounded across the UK on Tuesday afternoon (September 8) due to a system issue with National Air Traffic Services.
The technical failure prevented the safe departure and arrival of planes into major airports, including the Speke terminal, until the problem was resolved.
Tens of thousands of passengers across the country were impacted during the four-hour issue with disruption threatening to continue into Wednesday..
In an update on Tuesday evening, airport bosses confirmed that a small number of flights were still facing disruption in the coming hours.
“NATS have now resolved their earlier issue, however, disruption is still continuing with some flights delayed or cancelled this evening,” read a statement.
“Please check with your airline directly for updates about your flight.”
