Four men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Toxteth.
Police were alerted to a property on Boswell Street just after 7pm on Sunday (August 23) following reports of a dispute between a group of males.
A man in his 30s suffered a stab wound to his back during the incident and was taken to hospital, where he currently remains in a stable condition.
Three men aged 38, 57 and 20, all from the Liverpool area, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent at the property.
A 42-year-old man also from Liverpool was later arrested suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent at the cordon on Boswell Street.
Detective Inspector Lee Egerton said: “Although our officers made four swift arrests last night after the incident we are still in the early stages of an investigation to find out exactly what happened at the address in Toxteth and a cordon remains in place in the area.
“Knives have no place in our communities and in this case a man has suffered a serious injury. These incidents have the potential to cause disruption and harm on our streets, and we understand that there is work to be done, both in understanding the root causes of knife crime, and educating residents on the risks people take in carrying weapons.
