Everton are on the verge of making Tyrique George their their summer signing.
George made a lasting impression during a half-season loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium despite featuring 11 times for David Moyes’ side in all competitions.
The Chelsea winger is set for a swift return to Merseyside after the Blues stepped up negotiations with their Premier League counterparts during the past week.
George would follow the £16.5 million arrival of Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney and Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl, whose loan was made permanent for £18M.
An option to sign the 20-year-old as part of his original his loan arrangement was passed up in efforts to agree more reasonable terms with Stamford Bridge chiefs.
Although talks are yet to reach a successful conclusion, Everton are understood to be confident that George’s return could be finalised as early as the next week.
