Everton’s first pre-season friendly for 2026/27 has been confirmed.
David Moyes’ side are set to take on Premier League counterparts Newcastle United at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Wednesday, August 12.
The 5.15pm kick-off will come just a fortnight before the latest top flight campaign kicks off and marks the Blues’ first trip north of the border in more than a decade.
Confirmation of the opponents in Everton’s latest Premier League opener will arrive on June 19 when the new season’s fixtures are confirmed at 10am.
“Facing Newcastle United at Murrayfield gives us a valuable opportunity to test ourselves against Premier League opposition as part of our preparations for the new season,” said Moyes.
“Pre-season is an important period for the players and staff, and a fixture like this, in one of the most iconic stadiums in the country, will help us continue building towards the start of the campaign.
“Everton has always had a strong connection with Scotland and we know how well our supporters travel, not just from Merseyside but from across the country.
“Edinburgh is a fantastic city and this fixture gives Evertonians the chance to come together, enjoy the occasion and get behind the team in what should be a really good day for everyone connected with the club.”
