David Moyes admits he is ‘worried’ by Jarrad Branthwaite’s latest injury.
The Everton defender was stretchered off towards the closing stages of his side’s eventual 248th Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Branthwaite already spent the opening five months of this season sidelined with a hamstring problem which ultimately required corrective surgery.
And Moyes, who saw the Blues concede a late winner after the withdrawal, is fearful that the England international could be facing another injury lay-off.
He said: “I’m worried but we have not got any results [yet].
“It doesn’t look great, it caused problems because we had already made a couple of subs so we were down to our last one.
“Jarrad was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch, I thought he played so well.”
