Gorillaz to bring new live show to Liverpool

Gorillaz are set to bring their brand-new live show to Liverpool next year.

The band will take to the M&S Bank Arena on Sunday, March 29 on the local leg of their latest tour to mark the launch of ninth album The Mountain.

It promises an electrifying showcase of the new record – a kaleidoscopic 15-track journey featuring a stellar list of collaborators including Sparks, Trueno, Black Thought, Anoushka Shankar, IDLES, Yasiin Bey, Paul Simonon, Omar Souleyman and many more.

Fans can also expect Gorillaz classics spanning their 25-year history, all brought to life with Jamie Hewlett’s iconic visuals.

Support on selected tour dates comes from Argentine rapper Trueno, whose explosive energy has become a highlight of Gorillaz’ live collaborations.

Drummer Russel Hobbs said: “As space dust we are here forever and that’s a mighty long time.

“This is a musical meditation infused with light.

“A journey of the soul, with beats…”

The Mountain is the band’s most ambitious project to date, recorded across eight worldwide destinations and produced by Gorillaz alongside James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, Remi Kabaka Jr, and Bizarrap.

With performances in Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba, it’s a record that reflects the global reach and collaborative spirit that defines Gorillaz.

Tickets go on presale from 11am on Thursday, September 18 with sign-ups available here before the general sale at 11am on Friday, September 19.
