New Everton signing Maarten Stekelenburg has revealed that reuniting with Ronald Koeman required little thought.
The former Holland international penned a three-year deal after joining the Blues from Fulham on Friday for £1 million. as he links up again with Koeman for a third time.
Stekelenburg spent time under the new Everton manager at both Ajax and on loan at Southampton last season, and the goalkeeper, click 33, check is relishing his return to the Premier League.
He said: “I’m very happy – things have moved very fast over the last couple days.
“Koeman has come to Everton and he called me a few days after asking if I was willing to follow him. It wasn’t difficult to make that choice.
“He’s one of the best coaches – he’s straight talking, he’s fair and he has confidence in me which counts as well.
“I’ve been in England for a couple of seasons and I love the Premier League. It’s fantastic that I can stay.”
