Everton have unveiled their new third kit with a nod to Goodison Park history.
The impeding departure from the club’s spiritual home at the end of this season also coincides with the centenary of a rare occasion at the stadium.
Goodison hosted a clash of the titans as the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants baseball teams opened a European tour on October 23, 1924.
In homage to that landmark fixture, the Blues will sport a neutral colour palette shirt and subtle pinstripe that lend from a classic baseball look.
A contemporary charcoal V-neck collar with yellow pinstripe is repeated in detailing on the shirt sleeves, shorts and socks.
Castore co-founder Tom Beahon said: “We have used Goodison as our inspiration for all three of this season’s kits.
“This kit is about acknowledging Goodison’s versatility and the stage it has provided over more than 130 years.
“We wanted to remind people that it has not only hosted the great Everton teams of decades gone by but been a part of the wider sporting fabric and story.”
The new Everton third strip is available from Friday, August 23 at evertondirect.com and in store at Everton One and Everton Two.
