Review: Tom Jones at Aintree Racecourse

An evening with Tom Jones – what more could a person want?

The shining star on an evening of fantastic racing, site the Aintree crowd waited in anticipation for the man himself.

Tom Jones wasted absolutely no time in getting the Aintree crowd going on a Friday evening in June.

Despite the rain Tom Jones set the stage on fire as he went through the numbers that made him the legend that he is today. But far from the full throttle hit machine I expected, he provided a far more considered, sophisticate performance.

This was a well thought out performance of hand-picked songs old and new, provided by a voice that has never sounded better.

An exciting twist was put on his classics including Mama Told Me Not to Come and It’s Not Unusual as dusk fell on the track.

His trademark, powerful voice, never failed as he performed tracks spanning his entire five decade career and the legend was rewarded with audience members cheering, dancing and having a truly wonderful time.

Proving that age is merely a number in relation to his ability to entertain the star had thousands of fans, young and old, eating out the palm of his hand and he certainly did not disappoint.
