Luis Diaz is set to make his Liverpool comeback against Leeds United.
Diaz has not featured for Jurgen Klopp’s side since suffering a knee injury in last October’s defeat to Arsenal before a relapse further delayed his return.
The Colombia international made significant progress in his road to recovery by being pictured as part of first-team training with the Reds on Thursday.
Klopp has downplayed Diaz’s chances in Sunday’s clash with Premier League leaders Arsenal but expects him to be in contention at Leeds eight days later.
However the Liverpool manager is more optimistic about Thiago Alcantara’s prospects despite him spending two months out of action with hip injury.
“The plan with Luis is that he will be available 100% for Leeds,” said Klopp.
“It looks good, everything is fine, but it was a long, long injury and so we have to be careful. We will probably not involve him for Sunday.
“Thiago looks slightly different. He was not out that long, trained now three [or] four times with the team and might be available.
“But we have to check how he feels today.”
