Roberto Firmino will end his eight-year stay at Liverpool this summer.
Firmino has entered the final three months of his existing deal at Anfield and is already free to enter into a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs.
Jurgen Klopp remained hopeful of the Brazil international staying at the Reds as talks between club officials and his representatives remained ongoing.
But Firmino is now preparing to bow out at the end of the current campaign to pursue an as-yet unspecified fresh challenge away from Merseyside.
Since a £29 million arrival from Hoffenheim in 2015, the 31-year-old has won every major trophy available including a long-awaited Premier League title.
He also boasts the distinction of eclipsing Liverpool icons Kevin Keegan, John Toshack and Albert Stubbins’ records in the club’s all-time goal scorer list.
Firmino has already scored 11 times for Klopp’s side in all competitions this term and sits just two goals away from usurping John Barnes into 17th place.
His reliability for the current Liverpool boss saw him chosen 345 times to date – the most appearances of any player over Klopp’s 1,000-game career.
