Farhad Moshiri has reaffirmed his belief that Frank Lampard ‘will get it right’ at Everton.

Lampard is facing growing pressure barely 12 months into his Goodison Park tenure, with Saturday’s visit of Southampton set to be a defining fixture.

Fans are set to demonstrate against the Blues’ board after the game, which could see their team further mired in the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Less than 24 hours after responding to the Everton Fans’ Forum, Moshiri doubled down on his support for the hierarchy in an interview with TalkSport.

“I put my money where my mouth is and that is the most an owner can do and I have done that,” said Everton’s majority shareholder.

“Some of the decisions we have taken is together with the fans. All the managers who have left have been driven by the fans, not me initially.

“I think you have got to stay with the manager to get the systems going, the players he brought in. I have a lot of faith in Frank that he will get it right.”

Addressing criticism of the board, Moshiri added: “They have been there a long time.

“Some are new appointments, but they are longstanding, they are dedicated, they are local and it is so important to keep the club in Liverpool and its roots in Liverpool.

“Those are the roots and the roots of the club. They love the club and they have been attending games under every condition.

“Building a f760m stadium that will be one of the best in the country, [that] is an enormous challenge for a club.

“I think they need to acknowledge that they are going through a transformation and they are working extremely hard and I have added to the board every now and again with support and we will do it again.

“You can’t just make rash decisions. We have two big games, Saturday, and on the 21st, and that is the only focus.”
