Sven Mislintat is reportedly keen on becoming Liverpool’s new sporting director.
The Anfield club are on the lookout for a third head of recruitment this year following Michael Edwards’ departure and Julian Ward’s plans to also leave.
Ward’s decision to depart at the end of this season was met with surprise by the Reds’ hierarchy barely six months since stepping up to replace Edwards.

Director of research Ian Graham is another scheduled to depart at the conclusion of the current campaign after tending his resignation in June.
But reports in Germany claim that Mislintat could be persuaded to link up with Jurgen Klopp again as his current spell with Stuttgart is set to reach an end.
The 50-year-old confirmed on Wednesday that he will leave the Bundesliga strugglers after three-and-a-half years due to failing to agree a new contract.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Mislintat is ‘open’ to joining Liverpool despite a truncated end to his previous spell in England.
He was appointed as Arsenal’s head of recruitment in late 2017, overseeing the signings of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bernd Leno among others.
That stint ended just 14 months later, in February 2019, amid claims that he had been at odds with the Emirates Stadium hierarchy over transfer strategy.
As Borussia Dortmund’s chief scout, Mislintat was credited with identifying the talents of Robert Lewandowski, Mats Hummels and Ousmane Dembele.
