Ronald Koeman on verge of becoming new Everton FC manager

Everton are on the verge of announcing Ronald Koeman as their new manager after agreeing personal terms.

Negotiations between the Blues and Southampton to secure the 53-year-old’s release remain ongoing but the Dutch legend is all set to be unveiled as Roberto Martinez’s successor.

Agent Rob Jansen has confirmed that talks between Koeman and Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri have successfully concluded.

“We have reached an agreement with Everton,” he told Fox Sports.

“Now, it’s up to the clubs.”

The former Barcelona defender will retain Duncan Ferguson as part of his Goodison Park shake-up plans.

Everton icon Ferguson was promoted from the club’s under-21 back room to the first-team under Martinez’s tenure and remains the only existing senior coach still in post.

Erwin Koeman is expected to follow in his brother’s footsteps from Southampton to Merseyside, where he will again take up the role of assistant manager.
