Frank Lampard has warned that Everton cannot rely solely on home form to secure Premier League survival.
Sunday sees Lampard’s side travelling to Leicester City before another game on the road against fellow relegation strugglers Watford three days later.
Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea saw the Blues strengthen their hand in the battle to beat the drop in front of a fervent Goodison Park crowd.
But Lampard insists that his players must arrest a dismal, season-long return of poor results on their travels if they are to preserve their top flight status.
Lampard said: “As you saw with Liverpool in the first half at Villarreal and what happened in Madrid the next day, being at home does have a huge effect; on fans, momentum and moments.
“But in the position we are in, we can’t have that as our ‘out’. We can’t have so long a period without winning away from home – that has to be on us.
“We have to own it now and get results away in these last games.”
