Everton fans planning Arsenal walkout protest

Everton fans are preparing to walk out during their clash with Arsenal.

Pressure is growing on the Goodison Park hierarchy after Wednesday’s comprehensive Merseyside derby humiliation at the hands of Liverpool.

Chants of ‘sack the board’ could be heard following the result while chairman Bill Kenwright and director of football Marcel Brands received verbal abuse.

Various supporter groups have joined forces for a protest in the 27th minute denoting the number of years since the Blues last won silverware, on Monday.

A widely circulated message on social media from several accounts involved on Friday evening read: “27 years without a trophy is unacceptable.

“Show your feet on 27 minutes during the game against Arsenal on Monday evening and leave your seat.

“Let’s show that the incompetence from the top at Everton Football Club cannot continue.”

Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is expected to be present for Arsenal’s visit, his first to Goodison since October’s 5-2 defeat to Watford.
