James Rodriguez has admitted that he is in the dark over his Everton future.
Rodriguez arrived at Goodison Park to great fanfare 12 months ago as he again linked up with his former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti.
But Ancelotti’s surprise defection back to the Bernabeu and the Blues appointing Rafael Benitez in his place plunged the Colombia international’s future into doubt.
AC Milan have been regularly touted as Rodriguez’s potential next destination despite the Serie A giants or any other suitors yet to lodge a bid for the player.
The 30-year-old offered a candid response on his official Twitch channel when asked about his immediate future while also discounting a reunion with Ancelotti.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know, I don’t know where I’m going to play,” admitted Rodriguez.
“You know that in football and in life you don’t know anything but all I know is that I’ve been training hard, preparing well, training for myself and that’s it.
“It’s complicated. Wherever I’m wanted. Someone has to be at a place they’re wanted.”
He added: “Are you going back to Real Madrid? No, I don’t think so.
“That is a closed cycle which I won’t repeat.”
