Bernard has paid tribute to supporters following his Everton departure.
The Brazil international brought his three-year stint at Goodison Park to an end with a transfer to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates this week.
Bernard made 84 appearances in all competitions after joining the Blues from Shakhtar Donestk on a free transfer in 2018 and produced eight goals.
His final strike arrived in memorable fashion as it tipped the balance for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in February’s breathless nine-goal FA Cup tie with Tottenham.
Following the 28-year-old’s confirmed departure from Merseyside, Everton fans deluged his social media accounts with multiple goodwill messages.
“The last time I received so many messages like this was when I left Atletico (Mineiro) in 2013,” tweeted Bernard.
“I thank all Everton fans for so many beautiful messages, unfortunately the external factor didn’t allow me to accomplish what I wanted.
“Thank you very much. Once a Blue, always a Blue.”
