Everton reveal new ‘Black Watch’ away kit

Everton will wear the new away kit in Sunday’s visit to Manchester City.

The new change strip for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the forthcoming 2021/22 campaign has been unveiled ahead of its debut outing at the Etihad Stadium.

Danish kit suppliers Hummel produced a design inspired by the iconic one worn by the Blues’ team in 1881/82 which was dubbed the ‘Black Watch’.

The black kit, which contains a ‘burn orange sash’ design which runs diagonally from the shirt’s right-hand shoulder, will be on sale from June 4.

Everton’s goalkeeper shirt was also unveiled on Friday in a ‘classic green’ and will be available in short sleeves following consultations with Jordan Pickford.

Allan Vad Nielsen, Hummel’s CEO, said: “We are so proud of our association with Everton Football Club and of everything that was achieved in the first 12 months of our technical partnership.

“Like last year, we wanted to produce a kit that would resonate with fans and be truly, authentically Everton.

“Going back to the club’s earliest years and taking our inspiration from something as iconic as the ‘Black Watch’ kit to illustrate the longevity and togetherness of the Everton family just made sense.

“We hope Evertonians enjoy this kit and we look forward to seeing them back in the stands, wearing the new colours, celebrating victories as one.”
