Cenk Tosun open to Everton exit this month

Everton striker Cenk Tosun has admitted he is open to rejoining Besiktas.

Tosun’s first-team prospects at Goodison Park appear ominous after failing to even be included in the last two match day squads for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The Turkey international joined the Blues from Beskitas in 2018 and could seal a departure before the January transfer window closes next week.

CSKA Moscow are set to rival the Super Ligue outfit and are understood to have registered their interest in a deal for the out-of-favour marksman.

But Tosun, who has made just seven appearances for Everton this season, revealed on Thursday that he would welcome a return to his former club.

CSKA and Besiktas have registered interest in a loan for the 29-year-old, who remains under contract until 2022, and he is keen on a return to Istanbul.

“If Everton and Besiktas have an agreement, I am ready to wear the black and white jersey again,” Tosun told NTV Spor.

“I would like to contribute to Besiktas until the end of the season.

“If Everton approves the transfer, it will not be a problem for me.”

Tosun would follow Yannick Bolasie out the door after the winger agreed to join Championship side Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of this season.

The move to Teeside marks a fourth and final temporary spell of his five-year Everton career, with the 31-year-old’s contract set to expire this summer.
