Carlo Ancelotti wants Everton to build on their second straight league win.
Goals either side of half time from Richarlison and Mason Holgate were enough to give the Blues a 2-0 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday.
Ancelotti’s side have now moved up to fifth in the Premier League table as a result of back-to-back wins over the Foxes and Chelsea within four days.
But the Everton manager has challenged his players to continue their improved run of form with the season only one-third of the way through.
“It was an important result for us,” said Ancelotti.
“We are where we want to be in the table. If the season finished today, we’d be satisfied.
“Unfortunately the season is long, so we have to keep fighting to stay in this position.
“We were well-organised and solid defensively. The players are working hard. They had control of the ball, but they didn’t have opportunities to score.”
Everton’s shutout at the King Power Stadium saw them record back-to-back clean sheets after previously failing to keep one for more than three months.
Ancelotti was particularly happy with how his current back four, comprised entirely of central defenders, acquitted themselves in the hard-fought win.
He added: “We were able to repeat the same performance we did against Chelsea.
“We were solid defensively and when we had the opportunity we scored. We were well-organised and it is an important result.
“We were comfortable defensively, they had more of the ball but they didn’t have opportunities to score.
“The back four are working well together, compact, solid and we don’t push a lot with the full-backs so it’s difficult for them to find us out of balance.”
