Everton have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Napoli midfielder Allan.
Carlo Ancelotti’s plans to reunite with the Brazil international on Merseyside appeared to hit a stumbling block earlier this month over the player’s fee.
But the Blues are now set to tie up the signing of Allan in the coming days after an initial €25 million (£22.3m) with the incentive of future add-ons.
The 29-year-old will undergo a medical early next week after agreeing personal terms to become Everton’s first signing of the new season.
Ancelotti is understood to also be pressing ahead with a move for his former Real Madrid lieutenant James Rodriguez in the form of a season-long loan.
