Everton announce three summer departures

Oumar Niasse, Cuco Martina and Luke Garbutt are all set to leave Everton.

Niasse arrived as a £13.5 million signing from Lokamotiv Moscow in January 2016 and scored nine goals in 43 first team appearances for the Blues.

Joining the Senegal striker on the departure list is Cuco Martina, who was signed by his ex-Southampton boss Ronald Koeman on a free transfer in 2017.

Academy graduate Luke Garbutt will also depart, having made 12 sernior appearances at Goodison Park following his 2009 arrival from Leeds United.

Understudy goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is already a confirmed exit having agreed to join former club Ajax at the end of this season.

Everton have also announced that six players from their under-23 side will also not be retained including home-grown defender Morgan Feeney.

The boyhood Evertonian previously captained David Unsworth’s side to a league and cup double in the Premier League 2 in the 2018/19 campaign.

Matty Foulds, Alex Denny, Manasse Mampala and Korede Adedoyin have all been released while Kieran Phillips will leave after completing a season-long loan with Huddersfield Town.

Everton have agreed a short-term deal with Leighton Baines while the left-back, 35, is still mulling over a one-year contract extension for next season.

Monaco loanee Djibril Sidibe has similarly extended his stay on Merseyside for the remaining seven Premier League matches.
