Everton handed early Merseyside derby boost

Theo Walcott will be available for Everton in their Merseyside derby clash with Liverpool.

Walcott missed last weekend’s defeat at Leicester City with an illness but is now set to be in contention for the Blues’ showdown at Anfield on Wednesday.

Despite the former England international’s inclusion, Marco Silva is still sweating on the fitness of both midfielder Fabian Delph and captain Seamus Coleman.

Everton have been without Delph since their 1-1 draw with Tottenham while Coleman was sidelined for the recent trip to the King Power Stadium.

“Theo will be okay for tomorrow,” confirmed Silva.

“He was sick but he’s worked the last two sessions with the team and he will be in the [right] conditions to be in the squad list.

“Coleman tried again this morning but is not [currently] in conditions to be fit for the match.

“Delph is not training at this moment with the team.

“Let’s see [tomorrow] how they will be and [whether] they can be fit or not for the match.”
