Everton are set to entertain Leicester City in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup.
Marco Silva’s side overcame his former club Watford in Tuesday’s fourth round tie courtesy of second-half goals from Mason Holgate and Richarlison.
The Blues will now welcome the Foxes to Goodison Park on Wednesday, December 18 just over a fortnight after they face off at the King Power Stadium.
It comes in the midst of a gruelling run of games for Silva’s side, who will face Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United prior to the last eight fixture.
Both sides previously clashed in cup competitions on three previous occasions, with Leicester triumphing in the most recent, an FA Cup third round tie in 2017.
The visitors have also won the Carabao Cup three times in their history but are yet to face Everton in the competition prior to their upcoming Goodison meeting.
Their last visit to the blue half of Merseyside saw Jamie Vardy notch a decisive goal in an otherwise forgettable New Year’s Day encounter for Silva’s players.
