Yerry Mina fined by FA over betting breaches

Yerry Mina has been fined £10,000 for breaching betting FA regulations.

English football’s governing body brought the charge against the Everton defender in July following his endorsement of a Colombian gambling firm.

Mina appeared in a video for the betting company in his homeland, which has since been removed at the player’s request, earlier this year.

The FA’s Regulatory Commission confirmed that all money earned by the Blues centre-back for the promotion was donated to his charitable foundation.

Tuesday’s published report also revealed that Mina requested that the offending advert be removed once he was informed that it breached FA betting rules.

But he has still received a financial penalty and a warning about future conduct.
