Ademola Lookman seals RB Leipzig switch

Everton forward Ademola Lookman has joined RB Leipzig on a permanent deal.

Lookman spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan with the Bundesliga outfit and signed a five-year contract after sealing his return.

Leipzig had previously attempted to test the Blues’ resolve with a series of offers for the 21-year-old last summer but were informed that he was not for sale.

However the Goodison Park hierarchy have reneged on that stance and allowed Lookman to rejoin the Red Bull-owned club in a deal believed to be worth £22.5 million.

“It was a long process all in all, especially as we wanted to sign him last summer,” said Lepzig’s sporting director Markus Krosche.

“Nevertheless, we remained determined and that paid off for us.

“Ademola convinced us immensely during his time on loan here and will now quickly re-integrate and further enhance our attacking play with his dynamic ability.”

Lookman made 48 appearances for Everton during a two-and-a-half year stay and scored on his debut in the 4-0 win over Manchester City in January 2017.
