To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beanz Meanz Heinz slogan this year, Heinz Beanz has revealed Liverpool’s love of the humble baked bean.
And with more than 63% of Liverpudlians eating beans at least once a week – and 22% tucking into a plate of beans two or three times a week – it is understandable how the city made it on to Heinz Beanz top 10.
Most beans in Liverpool are consumed at dinner time (58.5%), followed by lunch (58%) and then breakfast (37.5%).
More than nine out of 10 Liverpool residents (91%) enjoy serving beans with toast – preferably with two slices of toast according to 76% – while they also enjoyed tucking into their beans served with jacket potatoes, cooked breakfasts, sausages, chips or fish fingers.
However, Liverpool beans fans can’t seem to agree on how to eat beans with toast. More than one in 10 (11%) serve some beans on the toast and some on the side, 13% serve thetoast separately to the Beanz, and 76% prefer the more traditional ‘Beanz on toast’ approach – sparking a great beans debate in the city.

And Liverpool Beanz fanz certainly know which brand is their favourite with Heinz Beanz claiming the top spot as the city’s no.1 according to 64%.
